I had a stock Marantz CD-67SE ... one day, I sold it after 24 hours.
Don't like the sound. I have a Musical Fidelity E624 now, and I think it has the same DAC section than the X-24K (Burr-Brown 1716).
The soundstage is better than the Marantz, and the sound is more detailed. But it lacks bass. Still not my cup of tea. The MSB Link DAC, even with original power supply, sounds a little bit better in my system.
I would buy the Musical Fidelity DAC only if you can get it at a good price, and if your system is bass-heavy.Yves Simon
