Still Easter Season and It Has Risen!

Hallelujah, it has risen.

My Squeeze Box Touch that is.

I've had it for years, but over the last year it had developed an annoying problem of shutting down and restarting at random and any serious listening was futile. I just got tired of dealing with it so I gave up on it for months after I bought my Marantz Ruby SACD player and a looooooong USB cable to connect to my MB Pro. That worked and gave me everything I needed. Well, it's kind of an eyesore in the living room and I've gotten some huffs about it, so I thought I'd try and resurrect the SBT. I'd always thought that a direct ethernet connection would keep it from losing the connection and resetting itself, but the router would require and even longer unsightly cable. Enter the E(therenet) O(ver) P(owerline) adapter. $100 from the Amazon (thanks Rod!), 20 minutes of fiddling with trying to fit the plugs in and around it, and my SBT has been continuously on for about 10 days now. I really missed the clock face!

I know it's old tech that has been surpassed, but it works, using the Enhanced Digital Option it can take higher resolution signals now, can connect to the Ruby via Spdf or Toslink and works with Roon and most importantly it sounds pretty good. And I can get rid of the long USB cable unless I want to go with the highest res. files, which for now isn't really a dire need in the current listening space with all it's noises and distractions.

So, still an amazing little box that's got more life left in it. And it was MUCH less than $10,000!
