Upsamplers, DACs, jitter, shakes and analogue withdrawals, this is it.

RE: Ok, Coming Down to the Wire...

"I am considering adding a dedicated computer to my system (to use the screen for Bluray menu access) and as a storage medium for downloads. While I have no desire to rip my CD's, I'm finding that many older recordings are now only available (for reasonable costs that is) via download, they are no longer printing the physical discs, and the used market for some is astronomical.

I would need to be able to control that computer remotely. I've no idea how that might work, but I'm pretty sure there's a controller app of some sort available. I'll have to have all the hardware together to figure it out."

That is a whole other subject upon which I may be able to share a fair amount of my knowledge/experience if you would like. However I think it is really stretching the topic of this particular thread too far to deal with here.

Unfortunately you do not accept email which might otherwise have been a way to continue. However If you PM me instead I do accept emails from registered inmates and I could respond to that. BTW I still maintain a rather nice turntable. Playing some wide band Deccas or Lyritas is a fine thing ;-).

Regards

Pete
