Noted. And I did say all comments welcome, and to try and talk me out of it, so caveat emptor.

First, you have absolutely no idea what my financial situation is, or what my life is about. My house is worth (hah, valued at, worth to me is subjective) 7 figures and we owe very little, so we're doing some things with the equity we've earned to make life here in this Silicon Valley cracker box more pleasant for a few more years until we leave for good. And one of those things is some new stereo equipment for myself. If that doesn't jibe with your opinion, so be it.

Second, and more relevant than my financial disclosures. I have a streamer (with a DAC in it) the DAC inside the boxes I'm looking at are supposed to be pretty good, and much better than the one in my streamer, and they also come with pretty decent transports that will play the 150 or so SACD's I've got AND the thousands of RBCD's as well. And, as I've been experimenting with "the modern age" I've had quite a few problems with the Hi Rez streaming service including dropouts, bad links, HORRIBLE meta data, etc. For casual listening it's fine, but for serious listening, it's not ready for prime time as far as I'm concerned. I'll grant the value as to downloads, but that's a different subject.
