Upsamplers, DACs, jitter, shakes and analogue withdrawals, this is it.

RE: Gear A better than Gear B. Gear C better than Gear A. Gear B better than Gear C.....Repeat .....nt

Not sure what your point is, but everyone has different opinions about what gear they have and have listened to. I try to learn something from anyone I can. The PL amp looks good, but won't fit my critera, the speakers he reviewed are too big. A separate DAC is a possibility (hence my original BP inquiry) in order to get the best out of my RBCD's, but I'm likely going with a 1 box Marantz disc player.

For this new system I have some specific goals that limit the options, as silly as some might think they are. My space is small, so speaker size is important. I'd prefer an integrated/w mc phono. I'm omitting anything that doesn't have a remote. I can't really lift a 65 lb amp anymore and moving 100+ lb. speakers around ain't my thing either, so weight is important. I haven't bought anything new in almost 15 years (except for a cheap Yamaha DVD player when my Sony SACD changer bit the dust). I like what I have, but it's not practical in the current space, 2 box pre, streamer, amp, disc player, TT with separate power supply/controller. Too many cords and boxes. Fine when I had my own room, but I don't anymore. My speakers are perfect for the space, but I want to try something new with a fuller sound. I think I've identified what I'm after and what mfg's I want, now it's a matter of choosing within those lines where to spend the money. I appreciate the input.
