I applied a number of his suggestions in '07 to a Pioneer PD-54 transport in the garage system when I was still spinning shiny plastic:

-Added sheets of Dynamat to sides and top of chassis.
-Replaced feet with cut in half squash balls.
-Replaced power cord with shielded one using Marinco IEC plug.
-Powered through Monster conditioner.
-Oh yes, tightened all screws.

Those tweaks did provide some nominal improvements. :)
