RE: Cloning music library

ExFAT is almost exclusively used for flash drives. I do not know much about Lumin but I am wondering if the USB port in question is configured only for flash drives basically for casual use if, say, a friend brings round some tracks? Most network players like Lumin are designed for what they are called - playing with a network connection. For local files that means from NAS. Play from USB in these circumstances often has limitations e.g. no album artwork displayed.

Is the "disc" you refer to a flash drive? In which case you just format it as ExFAT (Disc Manager or whatever the Apple equivalent is - I assume Apple from HS+) and copy your library to it.

I cannot think of exFAT being a mandatory format except for play from a flash drive.

EDIT: Since writing the above I have looked at some Lumin network players. The USB input is indeed configured for flash drive or USB HDDs. FAT32 and NTFS are acceptable as well as exFAT. I would not use FAT32 as there is a limitation on maximum file size. But, as I said, the Lumin is primarily designed for use with a network connection.
