Home Digital Drive

Upsamplers, DACs, jitter, shakes and analogue withdrawals, this is it.

RE: Lyngdorf CD1

Well, I guess I was looking for some folks able to tell me how much they liked it in their system.
I've read the reviews, which are (as often) quite contradictory. Most are very positive, but with quite different subjective results. I suspect due to very different associated gear and different oversampling settings. Analogue output puts out a frighteningly high 3,6V (!) but can be lowered (thank god) in the menu settings

worst case scenario I'd use it as drive with my cheap as chips SMSL SU-8 DAC (which I love!)
I never owned a "high end" CD player; my old Revox is well built but is starting to fail (the poor thing is from 1990)
In all fairness I'm very interested in the looks, build quality and extensive connectivity (that thing has balanced, unbalanced, optical, coaxial, AES, and RJ45 in/out. The analogue output/digital conversion can be turned off completely, in case it's being used as drive only.
So it wouldn't be too bad if I were to use it with my DAC (you're gonna tell me "there's no way in hell a renowned CD player from a high end brand would be beaten by a cheap Chinese DAC", but I'm not so sure) I would probably still be happy with my purchase...

Thanks for the link, I'll sure check that out in case I end up buying it ;-)
