Yes that would be the first thing to check. Many A/V processors give a choice for setting the centre channel as large, small or none. However the OP says that the loss of the centre channel is related exclusively to SACD replay and all other multi-channel sources provide all of the channels. That presumably wouldn't be the case had the processor been set to " none" for the centre channel as it would be "none" for everything.
