RE: And further to Kal's remark...

All of the numbers that you are quoting are about the phono input. That is LP replay. If you have your SA-10 connected to this input then it will sound horribly wrong.

I am afraid that I need to disagree with the Kal:

In fact balanced outputs commonly provide double the output voltage of their single ended equivalents. This is an outcome from using differential circuitry. So that 2.4V single ended output could be a 4.8V balanced one. Unfortunately neither Marantz nor Cary seem to provide sufficient information on balanced inputs /outputs to take it any further. However your subjective opinion supports the idea that there may be an electrical mismatch.
