The main feature of Ayre digital is the very short minimum phase filter. That gives it a different sound than DACs which use a linear phase brick wall filter, like the Topping. If you like one, you probably won't like the other.

With the Codex, you're also getting Ayre's discrete "diamond" output stage vs. op-amps in the Topping. And better jitter rejection.

The only reason to consider moving on from the Ayre is if you're not satisfied with the sound.
