Gigs.

This seems to be the de facto answer for many musicians, I think. Easier for some (acoustic, etc) than others, perhaps (electronic, machine mediated). Streaming is a world unto itself.

Personally, I try to get to gigs when I can with friends, but still rely on media and the radio.

On another note, even though our children stream like the best of them, whenever I sell an old hifi item (like a no longer used CD player), I get suspicious looks from our youngest. They know they will receive our vinyl and CD collection at some point and I suppose they're ensuring they have a playback system for it all - makes sense!
