Cleaning the CD player

I decided that after at least 12 years of ownership, I should have my Rotel RCD-1072 cleaned by a repair service that knows a lot more than I do. I suspect that a lot of the problems that I'd attributed to the player were more the fault of the external DVD/CD burners that I used to make copies of my CDs. That being my current frame of mind, I figured the piece is still due for a cleanup.

I expect that the most common procedures would be to clean the laser lens, clean and lube the the tray rails, replace the drive belt, and blow out any dust that has settled inside during the years of ownership. The electronics seem to be working well and in any case, it's used as a transport to feed the DAC in my Peachtree Nova 150.

Are there any other steps in cleaning a CD player that I should be aware of and discuss with the service technician? Right now, the service is expected to cost the minimum bench charge of $80/hr. Given the age of the player, I don't think I should sink much more than say $120 or so to get it back in shape. New CD players with a three year P&L warranty that could fill the same job description cost around $400 so sinking more than $120 seems to be foolish.

I want to go into the shop with reasonable expectations so if I've missed something, please take a minute to let me know.
