My worry is that I swap one set of neuroses for another. In this case, software anticipation for hardware woes.
I feel I like to plateau from time to time, and just enjoy what I've got. Worrying about new firmware for things I own is slowly taking over my enjoyment of them - or in fact, my enjoyment of life *past* them. Remember when phones were just phones, and the goal was relating to people at distance? Or hifi was just hifi, and the goal was actually listening to music and engaging with musicians?
Maybe I'm just getting old(er) and need a new hobby.
