Home Digital Drive

Upsamplers, DACs, jitter, shakes and analogue withdrawals, this is it.

RE: Curious...

The one that's NOT in my stereo room. '-)

Nor is mine!

It's a full sized Dell desktop with 32" monitor that lives in the office downstairs. Using it now. It's role is as server only for five music and video systems around the house. I certainly wouldn't want it in the listening room either.

Here's the computer used for playback upstairs. It's that silver deck-of-cards sized box that lives behind the DAC. Powered by an ultra capacitor (battery like) supply. No monitor. No keyboard. No mouse. No drives. No noise. Music selection by app running on iPad. Instantly find any album. Individual track. Play by genre like Christmas music. Have it wander through the collection and randomly find stuff you've likely forgotten.

I can do the same thing in the garage system too, sharing the same content and interface. Its a beautiful thing spending more time listening than shuffling media. :)
