Somehow, you've locked your mindset into thinking that computer audio must necessarily means the computer always plays the music.
It does not. Mine simply sources the content. As a reviewer, perhaps you should do some research and understand what is available.
... because they prefer the S/PDIF connection perhaps because the DAC simply sounds better from that connection.
I find that true with both of my computer based playback systems, too. :)
