Have extensive audio experience, but am in process of buying my first stand alone DAC. Very strict criteria, very limited dealers here, no possibility of demo-ing and hearing for myself.
I am basically asking you your opinion on the sound quality of these two DAC finalists:
1. Wadia 121
2. Bel Canto DAC 2.5 (maybe DAC 3)
The strict criteria: budget less than $1,200, MUST HAVE remote control volume, must be musical.
I do not care about: PC integration/USB, new or used, headphones
I am aware of: used pricing, list prices, etc.
I am most concerned with: sound quality, soundstage, dynamics
I cannot find any: dealers in Chicago who have any of these products to audition.
I will be using this with: LFD Zero mk IV int amp, Harbeth C-7s, Oppo transport
Thanks for your help.
