RE: Arcam glitch - won't read disc

Sounds like the disc rotation motor (or its drive IC) has weakened, or there is resistance in the wiring, etc., and so it is not spinning up the disc fast enough to have the TOC (table of contents) read before the Mechanism times out. Cycling the drawer allows the timing to wait a bit before timing out and the motor is able to get things going fast enough.

I seem to recall a few Arcam and other brand DVD's have this problem as a normal bug, some would chop off the first half second of the first track of a disc, too.
