RE: MacBook Pro

One option to consider would be Asynchronous USB 2.0 from your MacBook Pro to a USB DAC like the Ayre QB-9 or one of Gordon Rankin's Wavelength models.

Quite exceptional sound, the best way that I know of to extract the most music from your MacBook.

There may be better techniques, but I don't know of them. I do know that this combo works very well, since I own a MacBook Pro. :)

Using AIFF files, of course.
