Upsamplers, DACs, jitter, shakes and analogue withdrawals, this is it.

RE: Footfall Isolation?

When this has happened on some installations with turntables that I couldn't mount on a wall, I had pretty good luck fabricating some sort of bracket/brace system (often a simple 90 degree iron bracket from a hardware store with holes in each leg) that spanned from the back of the shelf to the wall. Preferably attached to the wall and the shelf.

If it worked for a suspended turntable, it should definitely work for a CD player.

Many floorborne vibrations are not solely vertical, but also have a horizontal component. This technique can help with that aspect as well.

Best regards,

Jim Smith
