Given stuff like this, which I have witnessed and am equally susceptible to, combined with the inadequacy of most listening rooms' acoustics, combined with the crapiness of most commercial recordings all provides a good argument for limiting a single room stereo system to an expenditure of thousands of dollars, rather than to tens of thousands of dollars.
