If you have a $1000 to spend dont waste ur time with the Cd67SE. The Marantz was a great budget hifi player in its day but its 10 years old, digital audio technology has improved quite a bit since then and even the budget players of today like the NAD520bee or Cambridge 540 should easily out perform even a modded cd67se. I always reccomnd the cd67se to people on a real tight buidget as i dont think you can do better for under $200. But your looking in the $1000 range which gives you access to much better players like the Rega Apollo, Ah! Super Tjoeb 4000, Arcam cd93, MF Xray v3....etc
