My digital setup isn't the least bit fatiguing (Ack 2.0 w/teflons and TEac PD500 transport)......I find NOS to be very organic, like many others. But to each their own. I just wouldn't agree that your experience is common.As to the original's posting I unfortunately don't have other models to compare to the Ack. I do find digital and analog IC's and power cables make a huge difference in sound in my system for those components.
