I never heard a 1.2 w/hi-res. so it's not for me to say. I did have a 1.2 w/o HiRes, before my 2.0 w/o hi-res. The 1.2 is nice, but the 2.0 is much better. I'd get a 2.0 and eventually go hi-res if that's an option. The hi-res upgrade was only around $100. Best $100 upgrade I've done in the last few years.
