I have the Denon and had the onkyo. The Denon is more musical and much more dynamic sounding for movies. Plus, the model you are looking at has 7.1 amplification and processing aside from all the DB and DTS formats available. Very good value for the money.

P.s. forgot to tell you my front speakers are 4ohm and back speakers are 6ohm and central is 8ohm. I have no problem whatsoever. I think you would have a problem ( excessive heat) only if you would listen at very high volumes for long periods using all channels at once.
