If a manufacturer says minimum 8 ohm, I would not use a 6 ohm speaker.
Something to be careful is the power output. Very often the maximum power output multiplied by the number of channels is way below the maximum power consumption! This shows that either the max output was measured with one channel driven or there is some manipulation of data. Harmon Kardon is one of the few bigger companies whose published power output matches the power consumed. Denons, Marantz or Yamaha never seem to have matching figures.
Your Monitor Audio speakers have decent sensitivity (91db). So they should not be a tough load to drive. My speakers have 86db sensitivity and are 6 ohm. I am beginning to feel that my receiver is not able to drive it well :-(
