I just returned a second copy of Doves -- Some Cities (EMI Records Canda) as both Copy Control discs were corrupted and unable to play on my emmLabs CDSD/DCC2 without tons of pops/clicks and poor sound quality. Funny thing, some Copy Control discs are OK and my corrupted disc could play on a cheap CD player and on my Mac fine. So, other than boycotting EMI products, buying vinyl, what can audiophiles do to get the industry to listen and realize that Copy Control, which doesn't meet Redbook standards, does not consistently play on high-end machines. Never mind, problems with ripping to iPods, playing in car CD players etc.
I am still waiting to hear a response to my numerous emails to EMI Canada.
