Thanks for sharing your experience to date on the M1Clic. I received mine about a week ago (I couldn't avoid the 75% discount!). I originally installed it using the line out, and I discovered that its output greatly bettered the results I was getting from my Oppo BDP-95 and my SqueezeBox Touch as far as USB input was concerned (using the USB connector on the front panel of the Clic). It also sounded better than the SBT receiving data from my PC. The SBT uses the Logitech Server and the Clic uses the Asset uPnP server.
At this point I decided to hook it up directly to my old Adcom GFA-555, bypassing my equally old Parasound PLD-1100. I noticed when I purchased the Clic that it had only one set of preamp outputs so I ordered two Y cables so I could run the preamp out to both my power amp and my Velodyne subwoofer. The first thing I noticed was that I had to use quite high volume control settings to get my normal sound levels. I worried that it might be caused by the parallel outputs, so I disconnected the subwoofer to eliminate that possible problem.
The result was very pleasing, detailed sound with good separation, spread and depth. CDs and SACDs played through my Oppo BDP-95 sounded cleaner, more detailed with a better top to bottom balance. The only thing missing is impact, and that may be due to the absence of the sub.
To that end, I decided to give the matching M1-PWR amp a chance, too. Audio Advisor had a demo for around $440, and it is on the way. It can solve my subwoofer issue since the amp has a line out as well as the speaker out connectors, that can be attached to the subwoofer.
It will be interesting to see how this equipment sounds together.
