I have this problem. I had been noticing a right channel tilt in my system lately,(don't have balance pot)so I decided to play Sheffield's CD with the balance track (track 1). The right channel test is right on but the left channel test appears almost in the centerbetween the speakers. ...Played with speaker positioning to no avail. Also changed power amp, preamp and replaced my digital link with the analog CD outputs instead of the digital out to the DAC. The problem still remains. The only common things in this test as before are the speakers and the laser in the CD player (Sony 7700 used as a transport) To me it does not seem to be the speakers, If i have information as in the test, for the left channel it should be there, in that channel, maybe at a lesser volume if the speaker is damaged, but not sprawled out all the way to the center. What about the laser, couldn't it be failing and causing this disbalance? any thoghts will be appreciated. Thanks.
