It's possible the signal found its way into the box through small openings in the box. Openings bigger than a photon. For example, in transports with a tray there's usually an air gap around the tray. There are often small air gaps around the seams of the box. Or unused RCA plugs in the back or other openings somewhere. This is how the Intelligent Chip photons got inside the transport while it was sitting on top of the transport chassis. AND how the CD laser inside the transport activated the Chip on top of the chassis.
