Yes, when I read the remote function sections in both the transport and dac manuals I understand it that the remote will toggle the polarity inverter in the dac and that the screen on the dac will indicate as such with highlighted word "inverted".
I think you are suggesting the transport can also invert phase because of what you audibly hear. The dac display remains unchanged under your test conditions regardless of the toggle command you are sending to the transport.
That sure is confusing. I don't see anywhere in the specs that the transport on it's own has inverting capabilities.
