RE: Flipping polarity in the analog domain...

The "audio waveform" is the combined "audio signal" on both + and - wires that make up the AC circuit. The "signal" is continuously reversing direction on both wires. The only "audio signal" that counts is the one traveling in the direction of the speakers. If the source (CD) is in reverse polarity it will show up as inverse polarity at the speakers.
