RE: How to measure absolute polarity?

The author of that article on 6 Moons wrote,

"In fact, there's a 50:50 chance that any given recording features inverted polarity."

Actually, and it's an important point, there is no evidence to support that statement. Any more than there evidence to support the statement that chances are 50-50 a given home system is in Reverse Absolute Polarity, which actually might be true.

It helps to have tools along with your ears to establish CD and system absolute polarity. XLO Test CD steps you through the process very well. So, the author is mistaken twice again, that ears are the only thing that matters, and that system absolute polarity isn't important.
