Yes, but again, recording quality is NOT format specific!

Yeah, too many bad sounding CD exist (same w/LP), however you're rants are farrrrrr too dismissive of the many excellent and natural sounding CD's also in reach. And in doing just that; you've pigeon holed/condemned the entire CD format unfairly.

I can list many CDs that NATURALLY (no artificial reverb) morph the walls of my living room into a much larger venue. I've also got many same LP and CD versions, which literally sound identical to each other.

Yeah Yeah Yeah, certainly, my analog rig offers potentially superior resolution; but that still depends entirely on the quality of the pressing/recording. And please note, my Sony W66 professional recorder copies my so called "superior" LP's in near all there sonic glory, you'd be very hard pressed to tell any difference in a direct comparison ... so obviously redbook - recorded properly - isn't the evil empire you continually suggest.
