Pretty much agree with DR. For me going to pc audio was an unabashed sq improvement. I grew up with vinyl, dabbled in cd then sacd but settled on pc audio as the best sound quality source. Usb may be good with the right dacs (ayre, Wavelength) but I go I2s from pc to dac and while I have been in audio a long time can still hear up to 20Khz. Getting to where I am now took 6months to a year but the vision (hearing vision?) of great audio drove me.
Its not just convenience it's: hearing all my cds and sacds all over again in better fidelity; having the ability to hear hirez dl's; borrowing cds from friends and libraries to rip them to hd. Its the future imo w/o having to buy a big $ server.
