The 6111WA is a small signal twin triode tube. Tubes like this used in line level circuits have a pretty good life span, perhaps 10,000 to 20,000 hours is a reasonable expectation. However, if the prior user left the DAC on 24/7, over the course of 9 years you're looking at a potential of almost 80,000 hours. (If the circuit is fully powered, it really doesn't matter if it is passing a signal when it comes to aging.)
So, yes, there is certainly a chance this tube needs replacement.
