David Cope should respond. My experience is that many AN dealers really haven't listened to the Zero components very much (if at all); however, David has. He shows it extensively "on the road".

I have heard the Zero system, as a whole, and it does not make the sound you describe. So, it could be a problem with your Zero; it could be an impedance matching problem with you preamp; or it could be that it just doesn't "fit" in your system for a variety of other reasons.

I am an Audio Note (UK) lover, no question about it. Used ARCAM FMJ-series CD Players (or a used CD-192T) can also be had "for not a lot of money" and I have used my CD-192T in a variety of tube (PP and SET) and SS systems with pleasing results to my ears.
