Home Digital Drive

Upsamplers, DACs, jitter, shakes and analogue withdrawals, this is it.

RE: Because they sound better than a computer drive.

But why spend money on a new/used one? If you already have one, and everyone here does, why invest any further in the format? I can guarantee that it won't make a comeback the way vinyl has. The technology that CD is based on has improved so much over the years that it was always a mystery to me that the format lasted even as long as it has. 24/96 should be the current standard, entire collections can fit on a 1tb hard drive at 16/44.1. There is just so much more storage capacity now.

As for sound quality, there is absolutely no reason that a DAC can't keep all PC noise out, and do it better than the internal DAC of a CD player.

Bits are bits, no matter where they come from. Timing can be controlled.

Would you buy a 20 year old PC? That's what you get with a CD player.
