Home Digital Drive

Upsamplers, DACs, jitter, shakes and analogue withdrawals, this is it.

Re: That's not my experience...

I've had to unplug mine once in over a year of use. Other than that, it's worked flawlessly and have had none of the issues you listed.

(audioeng) The 963 is quite decent as a Transport stock and excellent modded, however, it has a number of problems that you might want to avoid. Many of them do not initialize properly, so you have to power it off and on to get it to come-up. It is very hot on the disk because of the circuit board directly underneath the drive mechanism. Not sure if it can damage disks, but I could see how it could. It also has a number of annoying software glitches that make the sound cut-out when watching movies etc.. and the remote must be aimed directly at it to work. If you want a great Transport for cheap, get a Sony.
