Home Digital Drive

Upsamplers, DACs, jitter, shakes and analogue withdrawals, this is it.

Hate to disappoint you...

this is gross oversimplication bordering on untruth.... and let's not go there...suffice to say that Digital Analog Converter with a tube stage will define the signature of the a given SACD/CDP player. I mentioned tubes because it and output transformers will provide a different signature to the analog output of a digital signal be it DSD or PCM. It is my considered opinion at this stage that euphony rather than accuracy is the beesknees in audiophile circles (despite all protestions to the contrary and reason why measurements are scorned) therefore it is useless building a consumer SACDP or even CDP that is totally accurate to the signal since the judicious use of tubes/transformers and their associated colour will provide a sound that whilst inaccurate is more juicy and lifelike than the real thing in certain cases.
