I own a Cambridge Audio D500, which I like. I can't provide any comments on the Marantz player, since I don't own one and haven't heard one. Other players in the same general range you might consider would include the NAD C520 or C521, the Arcam Alpha 7 or Alpha 7SE, and the original Rega Planet. Good luck funding a player you're happy with.
