One more thing about Marantz vs system matching. Since the deliberate midrange rose-tinted coloration progressively increase with lower range model, I would say for low-mid-fi system, the CD63SE works a treat for vocal and I may even go further to say that in those setup, the CD17m2ki might even sound less nice. I have also heard the Marantz DV8300 (DVD/CD/SACD) and the redbook performance is totally outclassed by the CD17.Yes, I have the Farella 300, a NOS. And reported in some reviews, it's a bit in-your-face sound and that's why I have to pick a slightly laid-back amp (C370) & IC (Cardas Quadlink). IMO, the Farella are under-appreciated speakers and I also have a B&W CDM7 (old model) and would say the Farella are better but does loss to a large margin to the Dynaudio 1.3SE. The huge low frequency info of the CD17m2ki (unfortunately it's not laid-back) really helps. So much so that I no longer complaint about lack of bass as reported by most people on the Farella and the quality is excellent. You should hear the double-bass :) But I would love to try out the Arcam given the opportunities.
