Upsamplers, DACs, jitter, shakes and analogue withdrawals, this is it.

try the Marantz DR6000 CD Recorder/Player, now being sold by hifi.com (Cambridge Soundworks -- authorized Marantz dealer) for $299 (the original price was over $600). I have one. As a player, it's as good as anything up to $1K that I have heard. AND it makes perfect copies. If your public library carries CDs, you can build a fantastic collection for 30-40 cents a disc (the cost of a TDK Music CD-R, the brand that works best.) Won't accept data CDRs, though.
