Upsamplers, DACs, jitter, shakes and analogue withdrawals, this is it.

Audio gurus your help is kindly requested

OK, I have decided to get off the audiophile rollercoaster and just spend more time doing other things I have neglected, like excercise, more time with my children, a greater focus on work etc.
I sold the last of my high dollar toys DAC/transport and I am now in search of a decent sub $300 CD player. C'mon I know you can work your audio 'mo-jo' with sub multi-kilo machines recommendations, let's see how you do with a poe-man's quandry? I am not into fancy lables, what it used to cost. The only criteria is value & musicality. I will make it easier for you by sharing my other sub $350 little engines the could...

Linn Sondek LP-12 Basik LV X spent $150 about twenty years old, but excellent a real steal!!!!!
Philly Audio 7b tube preamp cost $325 a young hungry small guy great stuff
Grado Gold $100 mounted
ASL Wave 8 cost $215 with covers and detachable AC everyone one should have a pair of these
Mission m71 $150 slapped myself for owning Proac's that couldn't get it on like these can
Kimber PBJ no one could ever convince me to use anything else not even if it were for free!
Speaker cable AQ type 4
Basik-Rak by Micheal Greene monitor stands $99

Hey when was the last time you heard a guy brag about how little he spent on his rig? My old system cost me about 14x too much as the above and the only thing I was missing in that system was the ability to sit down and listen to the music and not the soundstage, timbre, texture and all that other mumbo-jumbo that makes nerds of us all. I had become a SONIC EXTRACTIVIST no longer music fanactic. I found out unless you live in a audiophile village no one gives a rat's ass how much you spent on your rig :-( All of my friends "conquest" thought it all was rather OK women are wierd they find it hard to make a connection with things. Go figure?!

Thanks for the help

Wishing for a cure
