HowdyA couple of things that make a difference on the S9000ES:
Using the audio direct button on the player and also the video off on the remote both help the sound.
Not that I'm recommending you do this now, but I like the difference that mods from ModWright made on my S9000ES, especially relevant here is the difference in the bass. Check the link below for a few more comments I made here just after I had my mods done.
