I thought my Denon 1650 sounded comparable on CD, perhaps a bit better. Somewhat disappointing to me. The salesman said the 8260 sounded as good as the SA 14 and that it was the ss electronics, Classe, which were at fault. At the same store I tried the SA 14 with the same discs and it sounded noticeably better. The SA 14 was running Audio Research amps. I'm hoping to audition the 8260 at another store soon. Maybe they'll have better amps.This one you definitely need to audition IMO.
