Thanks for the comments on the CD-12.
I agree with you and often "think" that todays' top-class one-box cd players may inherently be better than separates due to the jitter issues you mention.Tethering 2 digital components together from ( usually ) dissimilar manufacturers with different implementations of their respective digital inputs & outputs & cabling considerations & and external environmental effects ... may lead to more probems then it solves ?
I just returned from my dealer with the Cary 306/200 & MSB Platinum Plus ... will unpack shortly !
