Digital Dilema: Get a Linn CD-12 ?

I currently own a Wadia 27ix mated to an Altis CDT-3 transport. I am quite happy with this combo, but I am looking for a change of scenery and something with a little more top-end sparkle.
I use an ML 380S preamp -> EAD PM2000 -> Waveform Mach.
I am not interested in SACD or DVD-A, having previously had a 777 SACD player -> not enough software !!
I recently picked up a used DCS Purcell, and really like the improvement of upsampling to 24/88.2 into the 27ix. I have also had and Apogee PSX-100 and MSB Platinum Plus DACs at home recently, and easily prefer the use of the Purcell with them too. I am also trying to get the Cary 306/200 cdp, Sim Eclipse cdp, and Chord DAC-64 for a home audition, and will try out each of these with the Purcell. Somehow, I think I will prefer the Purcell with all of these too.
I recently heard the Cary with & without the MSB Platimun Plus in the same system. The Cary, on its own, is a wonderfully resolving and musical piece. The MSB also has fantastic detail & ultra low noise floor, but I can see how the MSB could sound too cold & sterile in a "cool" system. A used Elgar ( sight-unheard $5500 ) may be an option too.
But up there on that pedestal is the one-box Linn CD-12.
These go for about $11K-$12K US used.
A separate CDP+Purcell or Transport+Prucell+DAC still entails considerable cost for power cords, isolation devices, & digital cables, & space. A used CD-12 is in the same $ballpark as my separates options.
Has anyone else gone through the same decision debate and decided upon the one-box CD-12 ... and has no regrets ? Any new comments on CD-12 versus Purcell+Elgar doing 24/192 ( no DSD ) ?
