The power cord I made up is one I use on all my equipment, a recipe from Doc B. at Bottlehead. Three 12 guage solid copper conductors for which I bought the wire at HomeDepot at 12 cents per foot. I used a Hubble A/C plug and hard wired the cord to the Tjoeb taking the ground to chassis. Better bass and a quieter, "blacker" background for about $20Ca. including taxes.I have my player sitting on DIY roller balls, the bases of which I made using epoxy and graphite powder and I use an R-14 grade steel ball bearing for the ball. Works great and dirt cheap.
I am using the Siemens 7308 right now and they are a bit "snappy" which can be very exciting, and a friend of mine has a pair of NIB Bugle Boys which I am trying to get my hands on.
The lead shot and Liquid Nails really stiffened the case up and the added mass seemed to lock the soundstage in a little tighter.
There is a capacitor mod. for the op-amp that Kevin Smith came up with and I am going to do that next, I have the details if anyone is interested.
