RE: Suggestions for a redbook CD player $800-$2000?

Audiolab 6000CDT transport + your choice of DAC (I use Gustard A18 AK4499 DAC). You might end up with more than one digital source, having an external DAC with various inputs (the Gustard also has a fantastic Bluetooth input that I use to connect the TV, or my guests's smartphones, and it sounds amazing - last generation Bluetooth receptors have come a long way) makes more sense.
